Navy day was this year was held at the earlier date of Sunday 17th June. It was decided that this year’s event would be of a more relaxed gathering and display of member’s club boats. There were a good selection of Navy boats on display ranging from small scale to large scale vessels to include landing craft, submarines, fast attack, PT boats, river craft and large scale Battle ships. It was good to see a variety of vessels ranging from kit supplied to scratch built. This showed of the skills and experience of our fellow club members attending.
The display area this year was not roped off however although designated by use of the club flags that bracketed the display tables along the jetty.
Although we had a lot of Navy vessels on display there were only a few that ventured out on the water, which brought pleasure to the passing public, some of whom stopped to talk with us about our boats.
The day was also supported by other club members who turned out to sail yachts and fast electric boats, sailing well away from the navy vessels. Thank you for your consideration.
The members of the committee would like to say a big thank you to all club members who participated in this event and especially to Brain for bringing along his tables for us to display our boats.
